When can we pull the plug on fax machines ???
Hello …
Since like around mid 1970s …
Fax machines have been used widely in businesses …
But now … after around 30 years of use …
Is still a pre-requisite for setting up a business … ???
I don’t think so … I think we should move on …
Why cant we use email instead … why cant we let go … ???
Why should we use this unreliable technology … ???
To start with … a fax machine is expensive to buy …
With the added cost of thermal paper or ink cartridges …
It is expensive to operate and maintain …
And all it does … while taking up so much space …
Is send out and receive black and white images …
And usually it doesn’t do a very good job at it either …
Can we forget the garbled fax messages we receive … ???
How often have we sent the same fax more than once … ???
And the annoyingly slow speed and dreaded busy signals … ???
All of which can be avoided by using email instead …
I can understand the fact that some businesses …
May require your signature on a form or a contract …
And for those desperate situations …
There are several email/fax gateways around you can use …
I’m trying to avoid sending faxes all together …
And it nice to know that some of the business cards …
And email signatures of most email I get …
Doesn’t have a fax number advertised on it anymore …
That’s a good sign … right … ???
